Rich botanical moisture for soft, supple skin

1.8 oz / 50g

A soft, melt-on-contact botanical balm designed to leave skin feeling moisturized, supple, and comfortably cocooned.

Because the formula contains no water, there's no need to use a large amount. Warm a very small amount between your fingertips, press it over your skincare, and let the oils do the rest.

Why Use a Balm Instead of a Cream?
·A traditional cream contains a substantial water phase. This formula doesn't.
·Moisturizing Face Balm is an anhydrous moisturizer, meaning its formula is made entirely from oils, butter, waxes, and other oil-soluble ingredients.
·Rather than supplying water directly, it provides emollient lipids and a protective layer that helps reduce moisture loss from the skin's surface. That's why it works beautifully as the final step over hydrating products.

Texture and Aroma
·Its natural color may range from golden yellow to deeper orange depending on the natural color of the buriti and sea buckthorn oils.
·The aroma is subtle and botanical, with a soft resinous character from the elemi essential oil.

How to Use

After cleansing and applying your toner, serum, or other water-based skincare, take a pea-sized amount and warm it between clean fingertips.

Gently press and massage into the face, concentrating on areas that feel dry or tight.

Use as the final step of your skincare routine.

For an especially comforting application, apply over slightly damp skin or over a hydrating serum.

A little goes a long way.

Active Botanicals

Borage Seed Oil
Naturally rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), borage seed oil brings a distinctive essential-fatty-acid profile to the balm. It helps condition and soften dry-feeling skin while supporting a supple, comfortable skin feel.

Buriti Oil
A richly colored Amazonian fruit oil naturally abundant in carotenoids, including beta-carotene, along with tocopherols and other antioxidant compounds. Buriti helps nourish and condition the skin while supporting a soft, radiant, healthy-looking complexion.

Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil
A concentrated botanical oil with a distinctive profile of carotenoids, tocopherols, fatty acids, and other naturally occurring lipid-soluble compounds. Sea buckthorn helps condition dry, stressed-looking skin and supports softness, suppleness, and a healthy-looking glow.

Green Tea Leaf Wax
Derived from green tea leaves, this botanical wax contributes more than structure. It provides emollient skin conditioning while complementing the formula's protective, moisture-sealing character.

Elemi
A concentrated resin-derived botanical included specifically for its skin-conditioning benefits. Elemi helps support soft, supple, smooth-looking skin and complements the balm's focus on comforting dry or stressed-looking skin. Its naturally aromatic compounds give the balm a subtle resinous character, although it is not included as added fragrance.

FAQs

Q: What skin type is this for?
A: All skin types. It's especially well suited to dry, dehydrated-feeling, mature, or weather-stressed skin that enjoys a richer moisturizer.

Q: Is this actually moisturizing if it doesn't contain water?
A: Yes, but it moisturizes differently from a water-based cream. This is an anhydrous balm. Its oils, butter, and waxes soften and condition the skin while helping reduce moisture loss. For the most hydrated-feeling result, apply it over a hydrating toner or serum.

Q: Is it greasy?
A: It's a rich balm, so it has more emollience than a lotion. But the high proportion of jojoba, squalane, camellia, and Abyssinian oil gives it a much more elegant glide than a heavily waxed salve. Start small. A pea-sized amount is plenty for most faces.

Q: Can I use this instead of my moisturizer?
A: Yes. It can function as your moisturizer, particularly if you already use a hydrating toner or serum underneath. If your skin is very dry, layering the balm over water-based skincare will generally give you the best experience.

Q: Can I use it during the day?
A: Yes, although it's particularly lovely as an evening moisturizer. If using it during the daytime, finish your routine with sunscreen.

Q: What makes the borage, buriti, and sea buckthorn oils special
A: Borage brings its naturally high GLA content, while buriti and sea buckthorn contribute distinctive carotenoid- and antioxidant-rich botanical profiles. Together, they give this balm a much more intentional botanical identity than simply using a generic blend of carrier oils.

Q: Will this clog my pores?
A: We don't make a blanket non-comedogenic claim for this formula. Everyone's skin responds differently to oils and rich moisturizers. If you're prone to congestion, start with a small amount and see how your skin responds.

Q: Can oily skin use this?
A: Yes, but use a lighter hand. This is a rich facial balm, so someone with oily skin may prefer it as a nighttime moisturizer or on specific dry areas rather than applying a generous layer over the entire face.

Q: Does it help the skin barrier?
A: The formula is designed to condition the skin and help reduce moisture loss, which can support a comfortable, well-moisturized skin surface.

Q: Can I use it around my eyes?
A: You can use a very small amount around the orbital area, but avoid direct contact with the eyes and waterline.

Q: Is it fragrance-free?
A: No. It contains 0.1% elemi essential oil, which provides a subtle natural aroma. There is no added synthetic fragrance.

Q: Is the color natural?
A: Yes. The balm's warm golden-to-orange coloration comes from the natural color of its botanical oils, particularly buriti and sea buckthorn. Natural variation between batches is expected.

Q: Why does my balm look slightly different from another jar?
A: Natural botanical oils can vary in color and aroma depending on harvest, processing, and raw-material lot. Because this formula intentionally features strongly colored botanical oils, small variations in shade are normal.

Q: How much should I use?
A: Start with approximately a pea-sized amount for the entire face. Warm it between your fingertips first. If your skin needs more, add a little rather than starting with too much.

Q: How long will it last?
A: Because this is a concentrated, water-free balm and only a small amount is needed per application, a jar can last considerably longer than a conventional cream of the same weight.
