core states
A skin's core state is the way your complexion tends to behave most days, its baseline. There are four of them, and unlike the things we call aspects (more on those separately), a state tends to stay fairly put.
We also don't rank them. Balanced isn't "normal" skin, with the other three measured as deviations from it. It's one state among four, and every one of them gets a line built specifically for it, not a version of someone else's routine.
Your Core State governs how you Cleanse and Restore.
-
balanced
balanced skin holds its own equilibrium. oil and moisture run in a working rhythm, texture stays even, and tolerance for new products is generally high. the tend line keeps the rhythm from drifting as seasons and years do their thing.
-
combination
combination skin is running two states at once, usually with an oilier t-zone paired with a drier or balanced perimeter. the harmonize line is calibrated to hold both truths without over-treating either.
-
dry
dry skin produces less oil than it needs to feel comfortable. this is a supply issue, not a damage issue. the replenish line helps restock what dry skin isn't making enough of on its own.
-
oily
oily skin produces more oil than it needs. left alone, that surplus tends to migrate into congestion. the clarify line is built to regulate, not deplete.
